Four players were present:
- Greg
Male, Human Pirate - Queek Draw McGraw
Male, Twi’lek Pirate - Finzal
Male, Trandoshan Pirate - Tamara
Female, Farghul Pirate
As they swoop in closer, they in turn are spotted. Increasing their speed and training all of their weapons toward them, the larger barge takes off. Euro manages to maintain speed with the larger craft as they begin to ram into each other, while the crew of each ship lines the hulls and begin to exchange fire with their adversaries.
Greg and McGraw manage to take out a Rodian when Tamara sees that a boarding plank has come loose from the barge and leaps on it. At the same time, a Weequay and Klatoonian pirate jump onto the smaller skiff, causing it to veer to the right.
Greg and McGraw manage to take out the Klatoonian and Weequay invaders, but not without taking damage from the close quarter fighting. Euro regains control of the ship and manages to keep a parallel course. Tamara leaps from the board to the rail balancing herself, as the last Gamorrean Guard exchanges fire with her. Firing a shot between her legs, Greg takes out the Guard.
Tamara hops onto the deck as P’za rushes her. The beast is stunned, as Finzal rams the barge into the Rancor. Seeing his chance, McGraw scurries up the Rancor’s arm and takes a shot into its ear, as Greg and Euro fire their blasters from the deck.
Thoughts on this Session: Four players joined our Corellian Pirate themed adventure this session. Reintroducing Greg, Finzal, Tamara, and their boss Chic Euro from Clash on Corellia, they were also joined by a new pirate: Queek Draw McDraw. I told the players to indulge their high-speed chase fantasies from Raider of the Lost Ark, Road Warrior, Fast & Furious, etc. and they did not disappoint. Leaping from ship to ship while speeding over the desert seas, the fighting was actioned packed and even had a big monster finale. The best part was the Star Wars theme music being played in the background throughout the session.
Rules of Engagement: The figures and fighting stats are from the Star Wars Miniatures game published by Wizards of the Coast in the early 00's. Stats have been slightly modified to give PCs more hp. These will be quick half-hour sessions after our usual monthly D&D session. Players lose some agency, as I explain the scenario (much like the Star Wars movie scroll) and plop them into the action. However, they still get to choose their miniature, name, personality, etc. so there is still a lot of room for role-playing. Each session will feature different characters from across the Star Wars spectrum. Although each session will be a stand-alone chapter, characters will return and storylines will overlap as we see PCs and plots advance. As always, your comments are welcome.
