Dungeons and Dragons Fourth Edition (often referred to as 4E) is a previous iteration of the popular tabletop RPG. All of us here at Skokie Dungeons and Dragons run our games off of the 4E rules, so it's important to know what is out there that appeals to the different aspects of the game whether you're a player character (PC), dungeon master (DM), or perhaps both.
We're providing a comprehensive list of resources that you will find helpful for running your game or maximizing your character experience. For full disclosure, we would like to credit many of these resources which were pulled from the resource section of the 4Ednd subreddit. 4E Dungeons and Dragons Resources List
Running the Game Resources:
- 4E Wiki - a resource containing the most current changes to everything in 4E that Wizards of the Coast made along with additional resources (such as Dragon Magazine), essentials updates, rule changes and more.
- The Trove - Your best bet is to head over to the 4E subreddit (such a fantastic group of people) and see who might be able to help you out. Sadly, the Trove was taken offline.
- 4E Character Sheet - Build your player character using a handy Excel sheet that features everything you need without having to erase and re-write everything all of the time.
- 4E-Specific Discord Server - Get your chat or voice chat on with real people who play the game just as you do. Ask questions, provide your own assistance or just get to know some of the community.
- Dungeon Master Video Guides - This series, Running the Game, is done by Matt Colville who has a large presence in the D&D community. He has some great tips and constantly updates with new ideas. This is great for any DM level.
- Dungeon & Map Generators - This site is a great resource containing links to other sites that allow you to generate and even print your own custom maps for homebrew / custom campaigns.
- Skill Challenge Ideas - Find more information about skill challenges as well as pre-made challenges to incorporate in your campaigns.
- Trap Generator - This 4E specific generator will generate several ideas for traps and you can set the level of your PCs to generate challenges accordingly.
- D&D Music Playlists - This list of music can all be found on Spotify and streamed for any game. Of course the free version of Spotify has ads, so use accordingly!
