Emotionally drained after facing Ca’hne (see Father’s Day), To’Mas decides to take a short rest (player couldn’t make it) as the rest of The Heroes proceed with the plan. Realizing that the first step is to locate a wizard capable of creating a transport circle, The Heroes decide to split up to see if one can be found within the United Center.
Garrus suggest that Lupin should talk to her Uncle, Baron Damocles, and Mortos should go along since they are all Tieflings. This causes gasps of shock and calls of racism. Mortos declares that he would rather speak with the Registrar since she has infinite knowledge of everyone (see The Return of Henrick). Garrus then pronounces that he will speak with his Aunt Lilly and suggests that Bruno should join them, since they are all Dwarves. This statement causes more angst amongst The Heroes, including threats of reporting Garrus to HR, as soon as it is invented in a few centuries.
Bruno states that he wishes to speak with the Registrar because "she is hot". Ffion decides that she too would like to address the Registrar. Mortos protests that he already claimed her, but the others insist. Mortos huffs that he will instead speak with his new girlfriend, Penny Pincher (see Familiar Faces). Lupin agrees that she will visit her Uncle first, and then the library to see if she can get any information on Pyter and his castle. Mithraax declares that he likes books and decides to accompany her.
A Leary Lilly tells him that the Weird Sisters are powerful mages located in the United Center’s basement Magics Laboratory. As the Pious Protagonist professes his gratitude and heads off, the Cunning Cleric cautions him not to get caught.
In a sudden stroke of inspiration, the Excited Agriculturist asks if Penny is aware of any nearby mages who can create transport circles. The Enormous Insect enquires if The Heroes aren’t still under house arrest. The Determined Devil dismisses the question and asks if she recalls meeting anyone at the party who might fit the bill.
Penny recollects that, while she was trying to get some clam dip, a mage cut in front of her and bogarted all of the creamy delight. Mortos asks if she can recognize this mage in the crowd. To the Horned Hellion’s horror, she points to his sister Sotrom standing with her new husband Veratu (see Familiar Faces). An exasperated Mortos sighs and enquires if Penny will see if Sotrom is capable of creating portals. The Incredulous Invertebrate isn’t quite sure what she should say, so she tells Mortos to stand behind her and whisper what he wants her to say. The Awesome Accountant also instructs him to use his arms to gesticulate with her smaller arms. The Thrilled Tiefling trumpets: “I like the way you think”.
Asking if she would like to go on a heist with him, the Evil Incubus immediately says “Hell yes! Get it. . . Hell”. Mortos laughs and proclaims she’s lightened up since the last time they talked. Veratu tries to get up but Mortos pins him to the ground with his scythe and informs him no one is speaking to him. The Sinister Sister speculates on what they are stealing, then decides that it doesn’t matter, she just wants in. Mortos is concerned if she is able to create a portal big enough to accommodate Penny. The Sibling Sorcerer assures him she can.
Before anymore can be said, Ffion intervenes and asks if the Registrar knows of any wizards within the United Center who would be able to provide transport circles for them. The Spooky Spirit states that there are many and that the closes one is Chieftain Boma in the Human Coalition.
The Powerful Prince proclaims that they would be willing to provide one, if The Heroes will guarantee that the Dwarfs and Dragonborn races will vote for Cornelius Gravestone to lead the United. The Lady Lizard laments that they have already promised to nominate the twin ticket of Conrad and Midas to lead the United (see Party Politics). The Dashing Duke doesn’t care who they nominate, as long as they can deliver the votes of their respected races. The Cagey Cleric concurs and promises to speak with Baron Blackthorn while the Powerful Pugilist promises to talk to Queen Leonora.
Lupin sighs and enquires if Damocles knows of any wizards in the United Center that could provide transport circles for them. Damocles reminds her that they are under house arrest, but the Female Felon feigns forgetfulness. The Demon Duke then tells her that the Weird Sisters have a Magics Laboratory in the basement of the United Center. When asked its location, the Titled Tiefling tells her it is right next to the library, which was their next stop anyway.
As they gather up the plans, the Studious Psion seeks to take out a book. The Cunning Curator cautions that he may only take it out for a week and if he fails to return it, they will chop off his hand. The Gaunt Gith gasps and decides he doesn’t want to take out any book. The Lith Librarian laughs and assures him that he is joking. The Elder Official offers him a tome to read: The Forgotten God (see Love and Faith). As they head toward the Magics Laboratory, they see Garrus entering the door down the hall.
As the Dubious Dwarf dithers about the lab, Lupin and Mithraax enter. The Simple Psion smells something scrumptious in one of the boiling beakers and attempts to dip his finger in. The Witch Women warn him he shouldn’t do that because it is a powerful acid. Enquiring if they have anything of interest to sell, the Eerie Enchanters offer them potions of speed, quiet, vines, and flight. The Odd Occultists also offer sleeping powder, which needs to be disbursed in the air to activate. The Powerful Paladin purchases plenty of pouches of powders of sleep and potions of vines. The Purloining Pilferer purchases a plethora of potions of speed, quiet, and flight. The total is over 700gp, but she negotiates it down to 666gp.
When all of The Heroes regroup, they each share what they encountered. Lupin reveals the blueprints, and they discover that there is only one road up to the mountain top castle. A heavy gate and several turrets guard the entryway. They are not even sure how accurate the blueprints are since they agree Pyter is sure to have added defenses and had other modifications done throughout the castle. After a series of roundabout plans, they decide to kidnap Pyter, take him through the transport circle with them, and force him to order the gates open and enter with him.
The Heroes try to determine if the Human Coalition could have found out what they were planning. Bruno chastises Ffion that she shouldn’t have divulged what they wanted the transport circle for to the Humans. Ffion raises an eyebrow at him and gives him a jab with her staff.
At that point, Ffion’s ring of Narcolepsy’s Respite pricks her finger, causing her body to disappear into the Plane of Dreams (player lives in another time zone and had to go to sleep). But before she signed off, it is time for the puns.

With the puns solved, The Heroes then spend more time trying to figure out what to do. They finally agree upon using the transport circle to deliver them to the same spot. Mortos will transmogrify into a fly and scout from above, while Lupin enters the cave and scouts ahead. When questioned by the others on why he wants to bring along Sotrom and Penny, Mortos claims that they will provide extra muscle and finally, a real mage for the party. With a plan in place, The Heroes march off to see the Weird Sisters.
To be continued? ? ?
Thoughts on this Session: We started this session earlier so that Ffion could play longer before she had to turn in for the night. The thought was that The Heroes would approach the Weird Sisters and discover that the price to transport them would be to answer puns. Puns solved, The Heroes find themselves at the Eagle’s Nest where they engage the enemy. Instead, everyone went off on their own adventures forcing us to randomly insert the puns before Ffion had to depart. Not that I’m complaining, mind you. This session unexpectedly turned into another instance of fantastic role playing by everyone.
Lupin showed great foresight by first gathering intelligence from Baron Damocles, who reminded her that they are still under house arrest, about Pyter. And secondly, by searching the library for blueprints and information on Pyter’s castle. Stocking up on potions, it seems that she is prepared for battle. Deciding to scout the cave ahead of everyone else shows that she still hasn’t learned not to split the party. Trying to organize everyone to search for a wizard, Garrus faced calls of racism from some of his fellow party members. Chatting with Aunt Lilly gave him a lead to the Weird Sisters and also a reminder that they were still under house arrest. Discovering that they are indeed able to create a transport circle to Pyter’s castle, for an undisclosed price, he stocked up on potions. The plan of attack Garrus and the others came up with was immediately thwarted upon Pyter’s departed. Ffion’s interview with the Registrar led her to the Human wizard, Chieftain Boma. As part of the Human Coalition, his abilities to conjure a transportation circle came with a price. Ffion had to see if she could convince the Dragonborns to vote for the Human’s candidate. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like she will have to, now that they have other options. Mortos originally wanted to talk to the Registrar, but Ffion and Bruno’s insistence to accompany him made him storm off. His new girlfriend Penny, helped to reunite him with his sister Sotrom. Planning a heist together seems to have brought them closer. Discovering that Pyter has departed caused him to come up with a plan that will split the party once again. Bruno was interested in speaking with the Registrar mostly because she “was hot”. He seems to have forgotten that the love of his life, Queen Leonora, departed just hours ago in game time (see Political Intrigue). His blabbering to the Humans about why they need the transportation circle may have hastened Pyter’s early departure. Mithraax’s awkward encounters with new faces is quite humorous. Learning how to fist bump from Midas (see Political Intrigue), he now uses that as a litmus test to judge people’s character. Deciding that he didn’t like Damocles and liking Flowers based on their bumps was hilarious. Figuring out how a library works and almost burning his fingers in acid in the laboratory shows that though he is intelligent, his lack of nuances often leads to awkward encounters. Bravo to all!!!
