Wizbang Dazzle Pants, Male Drow Wizard
Enuffdain, Male Elf Paladin
Lupin Damakos, Female Tiefling Rogue + Willow, Cat Animal Companion
After landing in the Jungle (see Chapter 19), The Heroes find themselves lost. With their provisions depleted, Wizbang and Enuff begin to hungrily eye Willow. Following a crude jungle trail, The Heroes notice a scurrying in the dense brush. Fleeting glimpses of movement surround them, and The Heroes realize that they are being stalked!
Lupin uses stealth to hide in the foliage and allow the enemy to come to her, since every time she scouts ahead, it usually ends up with a horrible encounter (see Chapters 2, 11, 19). Wizbang determines that the best course of action is to flush the enemy out with fireballs (his default answer to everything). Somehow targeting Lupin in the center, despite being unable to see her, the fireball draws out the flanking foes: Nine Scytheclaw Drakes! Surrounded by the diminutive but deadly raptors, Wizbang literally pulls a card out of his sleeve. Using a Drama Card, an earthquake crushes seven of the reptilian adversaries. The final two give Wizbang and Enuff a surprisingly difficult challenge with their ability to knock their targets prone. Finally defeating the dewclaw duo, The Heroes sit down to a hardy meal of roasted raptor. Unfortunately, the aromatic fragrance entices other ravenous predators out of the jungle as well. |
Defeating the Gray Slaad, Lupin fights off both madness and impregnation and manages to use her endurance to expel the disease from her system. Enuff is not so fortunate, and progressively gets worst. Deciding that divide and conquer is the best strategy, Lupin attacks Blue, Clifford rips into Red, and Wizbang and Enuff double team Green. Using much of their encounter and daily powers, The Heroes finally manage to make the frog beasts croak. On their moment of triumph, Enuff succumbs to the Chaos Phage. His chest starts to rupture and suddenly, a baby Slaad emerges from the deceased Paladin’s chest. The Kobold kneels and proclaims that this is the God-Child that the prophecy had foretold. |
