What? You never heard of Inktober???
Neither did I, until recently:
Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month.
Inktober dates back nearly a decade. Illustrator Jake Parker created it in 2009 as a way to improve his “inking skills and develop positive drawing habits.” The premise is simple: each day in October, make a drawing in ink and share it online using the hashtag #Inktober.
I once had dreams of being a cartoonist. What little skills I had have atrophied over the decades. What better way to force myself to practice than a drawing a day for a month?
I am positive that I will not be able to complete 31 drawings, but I will try to do at least a few a week. I hope to do portraits of all the PCs in our group. The first is of the Teen-age Tiefling Rogue: Lupin.
I already see so many problems in symmetry and proportion, but the point of this exercise is to improve one's skills. Let's see how this compares to my last drawing of the month.
If anyone else wants to join in, please do. I will be happy to showcase any and all art for Inktober. As always, your comments and critiques are welcome.
